Why a website?

Most of my time as a journalist, reporter, critic and book reviewer I was filing and keeping records of cuttings of my work, stored in scrap books. From the early 90’s it became handy to archive links for articles especially those published at Al Hayat. But the bulk of my early years in journalism at Al Nahar and other publications remained stuck in the scrap books.

My travels around the world, my residence in France, England, Greece, Australia and Lebanon; my TV and Radio interviews, my plays, songs, performances, and book launches have since been preserved on DVDs and CDs. The result is a heavy load to carry around. So I thought, why not get rid of as much clutter as possible, making the above available for readers and researchers.

I have included what is essential and of value and interest to others. But obviously shreds of vanity are inevitable!

يجمع هذا الموقع نماذج من حصاد نصف قرن في حقول الكتابة. الشعر اولاً، ثم العمل في الصحافة محلياً وفي بلاد الاغتراب، ثم الرواية والقصة، عربية وانكليزية، ثم المسرح والاغنية. لملمت القصاصات والصور والتسجيلات الاذاعية والمتلفزة، وارفقت مختارات منها بالدراسات الجامعية والمقابلات ومقالات النقد، لعل فيها ملامح من سمات الجيل الاول للاستقلال اللبناني، مما يكشف ابعد من صورتي وكتاباتي. م
